CHARDHAM TOUR
ITINERARY 10 NIGHTS / 11 DAYS

Day 1: Delhi  Haridwar (250Kms/ 6-7Hrs drive)
Arrival at the Delhi airport/ Railway Station, pick up & drive to Haridwar. After arriving at Haridwar, check-in at your pre-booked hotel and relax for some time. In the evening, Spend a few hours at Har-ki-Paudi - one of the most sacred ghats in India, and watch the tiny earthen oil lamps drift down the Ganges in a display of myriad flickering lights. This ghat is believed to be built by king Vikramaditya in 1st century BC in the memory of his brother Bhartrihari who had come to meditate here on the bank of Ganga. There are many legends associated with this ghat.
The ambience of Hari-ki-Paudi brings upon a sense of clam on you. Return to your hotel in Haridwar, Overnight at Haridwar

Day 02: Haridwar  Barkot (210kms/7-8hr) HT: 1352 MTS.
Early Morning start drive for Barkot via Mussoorie, enroute visit Prakasheswar temple in Dehradun & Kampty Fall in Mussoorie. Later drive straight to Barkot.
Check into the hotel arrival at Barkot. Overnight stay at Barkot.

 

Day 03: Barkot  Jankichatti  Yamunotri  Jankichatti Barkot {36kms drive & 6kms Trek (one side)}   HT: 3235 MTS.
Early morning, Drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti, trek start from here to Yamunotri (6kms). Either by walk or by horse or by Doli (at own cost.) Arr. Yamunotri, One can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as "Prasad". Here near the temple "Pooja" can be offered to Divya Shila, after taking bath in Jamunabai Kund's warn water and having "Darshan" of pious "Yamunaji" returning to Jankichatti. Return back to Barkot, Overnight stay.

 

Day 04: Barkot  Uttarkashi (100kms/4hr) HT: 1352 MTS.
Morning after breakfast, drive for Uttarkashi. Visit Vishwanath Temple. Check into the hotel arrival at Uttarkashi. Rest day at leisure. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
Uttarkashi is home to a number of ashrams and temples and also to the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. The name of the town reflects its similarity to and location (as north of) the city of Kashi (Varanasi). Similar to Varanasi, town of Uttarkashi is situated on the Ganges, lies next to a hill named Varun Parvat, on confluence of two rivers Varuna and Asi, has a ghat called Manikarnika Ghat and has a temple dedicated to Shiva (Kashi Vishwanath Temple) in the center of the town.

 

Day 05: Uttarkashi  Gangotri  Uttarkashi (100kms/3-4 each side) HT: 3048 MTS.
Early morning drive to Gangotri, enroute at Gangnani take a holy dip in Garam Kund, further drive to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil Valley. Harsil is famous for its nature beauty and for the majestic views of the Deodar trees, and mountains. On arrival at Shree Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja and Darshan, after that relax for some time in the lovely surroundings. Return back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.


Gangotri Temple: The temple, constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th Century, is situated on the right bank of Bhagirathi.

 

Day 06: Uttarkashi  (Guptkashi) (220kms/8-9hr) HT: 1319 MTS.
Morning after breakfast, drive for Guptkashi. Enroute you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara. The Mandakini river comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival at Guptakashi. Overnight stay at Guptkashi.
The name Gupt Kashi means "Hidden Benares. Mythology describes how when the Pandava brothers were searching for a glimpse of Shiva, Shivji first concealed himself at Gupt Kashi, but later fled from them further up the valley to Kedarnath, where the Pandavas finally got their wish fulfilled. There are more tangible connections as well-the Kedarnath pandas (hereditary pilgrimage priests) live in Gupt Kashi during the winter months, and after the Kedarnath temple closes for the winter, the image of Kedarnath passes through Gupt Kashi on its way to Ukhimath (across the valley), where it stays for the winter.

 

Day 07: Rudraprayag (Guptkashi)  Kedarnath  (Guptkashi) Rudraprayag (30kms by road & 40kms Trek)   HT: 3384 MTS.
Morning drive to Rudraprayag, Trek start from Gaurikund to Kedarnath by Helicopter. Tour members should carry personal medicines, heavy woolen, toiletries and clothes for Kedarnath. Visit Kedarnath Temple. Later drive for (Guptkashi) Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at Guptkashi/Rudraprayag.

 

Day 08: (Guptkashi) Rudraprayag  Badrinath (160kms/7hr) HT: 3133 MTS.
Morning after breakfast, drive for Badrinath via Joshimath. Check into the hotel arrival at Badrinath. Later at evening visit Badrinath Temple for Aarti. Overnight stay at Badrinath.
Badrinath one of the 'Four Dhams' is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van", meaning "forest of berries".

 

Day 09: Badrinath Rudraprayag (160kms/7hr)   HT: 895 MTS.
Early morning, pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of Badrinathjee. Later drive back to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Check into the hotel arrival at Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

 

Day 10: Rudraprayag  Haridwar (165kms/5hr)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Haridwar via Rishikesh, and the 'place of sages' is a celebrated spiritual town on the bank of Ganga and is surrounded by Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. It is said that when Raibhya Rishi did hard penances, God appeared by the name of "Hrishikesh" and this area hence firth came to be known as Rishikesh. Visit Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhula. Later drive for Haridwar. Overnight stay at Haridwar.

 

Day 11: Haridwar   Delhi (250Kms/ 6-7Hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast, checkout from the hotel & drive back to Delhi. upon arrival transfer to Delhi airport / rly stn to catch the flight / train for your onwards journey.

Tour to the Leh Ladakh
Day 01 : Delhi – Haridwar/Rishikesh: In the Morning travel to the Haridwar / Rishikesh which is situated at the distance of 230 kms and check in to the hotel.In the afternoon take the tour of the various temples and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02 : Rishikesh – Badkot/Jankichatti : Take breakfast in the Morning, check out from the hotel and travel towards the Barkot enroute visit the via Dehradun, Mussoorie,Kempty Fall.Upon arrival check in to the hotel and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03 : Badkot /Jankichatt - Yamunotri - Jankichatti : In the Morning after taking breakfast starts the trek of 6 kms towards the Yamunotri.Upon arrival take a holy dip in the Garam Kund.In the afternoon start the trek back towards the Badkot and overnight stay in the guests house or hotel.
Day 04 : Badkot /Jankichatti - Uttarkashi: Take breakfast and travel towards the Uttarkashi which is situated at the distance of 120 kms, check in to the hotel and visit to the Vishwnath Temple and also see the river Bhagirathi.Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05 : Uttarkashi - Gangotri – Uttarkashi: In the early Morning travel towards the Gangotri. Upon arrival take a holy dip in the river Ganges which is also known as the Bhagirathi. Perform Pooja and spend time in the natural surroundings. In the afternoon return back to the Uttarkashi and stay in to the hotel.
Day 06 : Uttarkashi – Guptkashi: After taking breakfast check out from the hotel of the Uttarkashi and travel towards the Guptkashi situated at the distance of 228 kms enroute you can visit to the famous Tehri Dam.Stay in the hotel / camp, the remaining day is free for the leisure activities and overnight stay at the hotel / camp.
Day 07 : Guptkashi– Kedarnath-Guptkashi: This day early in the Morning start travel towards the Kedarnath to reach, visit to the helipad at Phata or Guptakashi.Arrive Kedarnath and attend Pooja, after that go to the Guptakashi.Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08 : Guptkashi– pipalkoti : After taking breakfast travel towards the Pipalkoti,check in to the hotel and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 09 : Pipalkoti– Badrinath : In the Morning take breakfast and check out from the hotel of the Pipalkoti and travel towards the Badrinath. Upon arrival perform the Darshan and take some rest.In the evening time visit the famous places like the Byas Gufa, Bheem Pul, Saraswati River, Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10 : Badrinath – Srinagar/Devprayag : In the early Morning attend the Arti Darshan, take breakfast and then travel towards the Srinagar.Arrive Srinagar and check in to the hotel and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 11 : Srinagar/Devprayag - Haridwar : In the Morning, check out from the hotel of Srinagar/Devprayag and travel towards the Haridwar which is situated at the distance of 135 kms.Arrive Haridwar and check in to the hotel and take a temple tour of the Haridwar and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12 : Srinagar/Devprayag - Haridwar : After taking breakfast in the Morning, check out from the hotel of Haridwar and travel towards the Delhi and then towards your onwards destination with the sweet memories of the tour.
